Preceptor Evaluations Without the Login Chase
2 min read
Email notifications and magic links give preceptors a direct path to assigned evaluations without requiring them to monitor in-app notifications or create a password.
A preceptor should not have to remember to open a clinical education app just to discover an evaluation request.
Preceptors work around patient care, not notification badges. If a request waits inside HealthTasks, it may wait too long. A form can be well-designed and still go unfinished when the path to it is easy to miss.
Today we're shipping email notifications and magic links for preceptor evaluations.
Put the request where the preceptor will see it
Preceptors can receive evaluation notifications by email instead of relying on in-app notifications alone. When the notification arrives, the preceptor can open it directly from email and enter the HealthTasks evaluation workflow.
The magic link handles sign-in automatically. The preceptor does not need to create or remember a HealthTasks password, and there is no separate email-and-password login step before completing the form.
A shorter path from request to submission
The workflow is simple:
- An evaluation is assigned to a preceptor.
- HealthTasks sends the evaluation notification by email.
- The preceptor opens the magic link.
- HealthTasks signs them in and opens the evaluation workflow.
- The preceptor completes and submits the form.
The evaluation still lives in HealthTasks. The change is the path that gets the preceptor there.
Less login friction for infrequent users
Preceptors are clinical workflow users, but they are not necessarily in HealthTasks every day. Asking them to monitor another notification center, create a password, and recover that password later adds friction to a task that already competes with patient care.
Email notifications meet the preceptor where work already happens. Magic links remove the account setup and password memory burden. Together, they make the handoff from assignment to evaluation more direct.
Less chasing for coordinators
Coordinators should spend their time managing clinical education, not repeatedly asking whether a preceptor saw an evaluation request or can still find the login page.
Email and magic-link access do not replace HealthTasks as the system of record. They provide a lower-friction front door to the same evaluation workflow, so submitted evaluations remain connected to the rest of the student's clinical record.
Why the small details matter
Clinical evaluations only help a program when they get finished. Reaching the right preceptor is part of evaluation design, not an afterthought.
HealthTasks now gives programs a clearer path to that last mile: email the request, sign the preceptor in through a magic link, and let them complete the evaluation without a password setup step.
Get started
If your program uses HealthTasks, ask about email notifications and magic links for preceptor evaluations. If you are evaluating how to improve clinical evaluation completion without adding another workflow for coordinators, book a demo.
